Teacher Opening:

Clallam Bay Early Learning Center is a play based child care for children 12 months through 6 or when they begin school. Our center is led by an experienced special education teacher and case manager. Our child care is a  supportive environment for children and staff as we navigate the needs for all children to thrive.

Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to work with toddlers (specifically 12-6 years).

  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Support each child’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance.

  • Establish positive and effective family relations through professional communication.

  • Proficient with interpersonal communication between children, peers and parents.

  • Observation and Documentation of Developmental Milestones

  • Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence through quality teacher-created lesson planning that utilizes gathered assessment data.

  • Must maintain professional commitment to the Clallam Bay Early Learning Center play-based philosophy and program policies.

  • Diaper changing and toilet training following DOH guidelines

  • Support development of independent self help skills including toilet training and hygiene.

  • Must participate in mandatory and optional in service training as outlined by the DCYF. 

  • Applicants for this position must be willing to work between the hours of 7am and 5:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break.

  • May be on call to cover early morning shifts as early as 5:30am

  • Applicants should have a love of teaching, working with children, and have the desire to learn and grow within the early childhood education field!

  • Applicants Must Be Willing to Obtain OR Have:

  • An active Merit account - Washington's Professional Development & Workforce Registry

  • A Portable Background Check (through MERIT)

  • The following required prerequisites: Negative Tb Test, CPR/First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens Training, WA State Food Handlers, and proof of MMR immunization.Child Care Basics or Equivalent.

  • A 20 credit certificate in Early Childhood Education (equivalent or relevant field) is required within 5 years of hire or promotion to this position.
